Contract Duration: 12 Weeks
Shift: 5x8s or 4x10s | 6:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Pay Rate: $52 – $55 per hour
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking Surgical Assistant for an exciting Local job in Cincinnati, OH.
ResponsibilitiesPosition patients as directed by the surgeon to ensure optimal exposure.
Provide visualization of the operative site by:
Placing and securing retractors.
Packing with sponges.
Digital manipulation of tissue.
Suctioning, irrigating, or sponging.
Manipulating suture materials.
Assist with hemostasis using appropriate techniques.
Perform suturing techniques including subcutaneous, subcuticular, and skin closure with suture, staples, or adhesive strips.
Administer postoperative subcutaneous injections of local anesthetic under surgeon direction.
Apply appropriate wound dressings, including occlusive, absorbent, and immobilizing dressings.
Assist with securing drainage systems.
Independently harvest veins, radial artery, tendons, bone, or skin when required.
Provide expert support in major surgical cases under direct surgeon supervision.
Stay current with emerging surgical technologies and techniques.
Extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Excellent eye-hand coordination; ability to stand for long periods.
Sound judgment and understanding of scientific principles.
Demonstrated competency in surgical assisting skills through hospital instruction.
Preferred:
4 years of general surgical experience, including at least 2 years in a specialty area.
Required: BLS (American Heart Association).
Preferred: NSAA, CFA (AST), AA-C (AAPA), or RNFA (NASC).
