Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 per year

Job Summary

Pioneer is seeking a motivated Structural Steel Detailer to join our team. This is a fully remote, work-from-home position for a candidate based in the United States.

The ideal candidate will be proficient in 3D steel modeling software (such as Tekla or SDS/2) and will be responsible for creating accurate and detailed drawings for the fabrication and erection of structural steel. You will play a crucial role in coordinating with engineers, project managers, and fabricators to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop complete and accurate 3D models of structural and miscellaneous steel using Tekla or SDS/2.

• Produce detailed, error-free shop drawings (detail sheets, beams, columns) and erection drawings from the 3D model.

• Generate and verify Bills of Material (BOM) and material data for purchasing.

• Review and interpret architectural and structural contract drawings and specifications.

• Prepare and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to clarify discrepancies and resolve issues with project teams (enginegers, architects, fabricators).

• Ensure all models and drawings comply with industry standards, including AISC and AWS codes.

• Implement and manage revisions from contract changes and design updates.

• Collaborate with team members via email, phone, and virtual meetings to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in structural steel detailing.

• Proficiency in 3D steel detailing software (Tekla or SDS/2 is required).

• Strong understanding of AISC standards and standard steel fabrication practices.

• Ability to read, interpret, and cross-reference complex architectural and structural drawings.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

• MUST BE LEGALLY AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN THE UNITED STATES.

• MUST BE PHYSICALLY LOCATED IN THE UNITED STATES.

Preferred:

• Experience with Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.

• Residence in the Eastern (ET) or Central (CT) time zones is strongly preferred to align with team and project hours.
