Setup Technician | Delta Township, MI

Salary Range: $47,000 - $72,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform machine setups and changeovers according to production schedules and specifications.
• Install, adjust, and calibrate tooling, fixtures, and molds for various manufacturing processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic issues during setup or production.
• Conduct first-piece inspections and quality checks to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Document setup parameters, maintenance activities, and production issues accurately.
• Collaborate with production operators and engineers to optimize machine performance and efficiency.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience in machine setup, operation, and changeovers in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Skilled in using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for production equipment.
• Adherence to safety protocols and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

Bonus Qualifications

• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software for fixture design or program review.
• Experience with industrial robotics setup, programming, or troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles for process optimization.
• Familiarity with PLC programming platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) for advanced troubleshooting.
• Experience with advanced metrology tools such as CMMs or vision systems.
