    The Senior Marketing Specialist will define comprehensive communications and marketing strategies that support UnityPoint Health’s mission and vision. Provide leadership, consultation and expertise in one or more key functional areas of marketing, public relations and/or communications:

    • Media relations
    • Public relations
    • Special events
    • Marketing
    • Internal communications

    Responsibilities

    • Identify specific communication goals, objectives and evaluation methods and provide recommendations to establish creative direction.
    • Develop strategic and imaginative communication plans, managing and overseeing the details of project from start to finish.
    • Manage marketing budgets for service lines and all special events.
    • Build effective relationships with the media and/or community contacts and internal stakeholders.
    • Work with departments across the region on activities to achieve business and market goals.
    • Contribute to the successful creation of marketing campaigns.
    • Determine need for community events, programs or seminars. Plan for, promote, coordinate, implement and evaluate.
    • Manage projects that support communications or marketing efforts.
    • Maintain regular and consistent attendance at work.
    • Adhere to all UnityPoint Health personnel policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
    • Behave in a manner consistent with all Corporate Compliance policies and procedures.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required with emphasis in journalism, communication, public relations or marketing preferred. Master’s degree preferred.
    • Requires 3-5 years professional experience in communications, marketing, public relations, advertising, journalism or related filed.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated creative ability with regard to writing, promotions, advertising along with strong editing skills.
    • Knowledge of current trends and techniques in marketing, public relations, media relations, advertising and social media.
    • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation software, MS Outlook, and Microsoft Office Products, including InDesign, PowerPoint, Word, Photo Shop, Illustrator. Photography and videography experience required.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills required.
    • Skilled in project management, event planning, managing multiple projects for delivery in a timely manner and within the fiscal budget.
    • Requires highly developed communication skills to effectively work with all levels of management throughout the UnityPoint Health, its subsidiaries and affiliates.
    • Excellent academic credentials with a track record of professional accomplishments, which demonstrate superior performance, leadership and vision.
    • Possesses excellent written and verbal communications.
    • Ability to work as a team member, creating and maintaining effective working relationships.
    • Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies and procedures.
