Job Summary
Aligned Solutions is seeking a Senior Accountant – Residential Lending for a well-respected organization. This role is responsible for accounting and reporting related to residential loan portfolios and residential mortgage-backed securities. Key responsibilities include preparing journal entries, roll forward reconciliations, variance analysis, and quarter- and year-end financial schedules and footnotes. The position plays an active role in the month-end close and reporting process, requiring strong attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accounting entries and ensure accuracy of accounts and balances

• Complete monthly variance analyses and trend explanations for actual vs. planned results

• Assist with quarterly and year-end financial schedules, footnotes, and reporting deadlines

• Perform monthly bank account reconciliations

• Identify and recommend process improvements

• Support special projects and ad-hoc requests as needed

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines

• High attention to detail with strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; PeopleSoft experience a plus

• Skilled in trend analysis and variance explanations

• Adaptability in a fast-paced environment

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (Master’s preferred)

• CPA preferred or actively pursuing

• 2–4 years of public accounting experience preferred
