Position Overview:

PAR Technology is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Remote Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll processing for our U.S.-based employees. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of payroll laws and systems, demonstrate a high level of accuracy, and ensure timely and compliant payroll operations. This is a remote role offering a flexible schedule and highly competitive compensation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll for hourly and salaried employees in multiple states.

• Ensure payroll transactions are processed accurately and on time, including wages, bonuses, commissions, and benefits deductions.

• Maintain payroll records in compliance with federal and state regulations.

• Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, timekeeping, and tax withholdings.

• Reconcile payroll data and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

• Prepare and distribute W-2s, 1099s, and other tax documentation.

• Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to align on benefit deductions, new hires, terminations, and compensation changes.

• Assist with audits, internal reviews, and reporting related to payroll processes.

• Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll laws and regulations, ensuring compliance at all times.

Qualifications:

Required:

• 3+ years of payroll processing experience in a multi-state environment.

• Strong knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws.

• Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, Workday, or similar).

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.

• Strong communication skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

Preferred:

• Experience with payroll in the technology or SaaS industry.

• CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) credential.

• Familiarity with HRIS platforms and accounting systems.
