Position Overview:PAR Technology is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Remote Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll processing for our U.S.-based employees. The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of payroll laws and systems, demonstrate a high level of accuracy, and ensure timely and compliant payroll operations. This is a remote role offering a flexible schedule and highly competitive compensation.
Key Responsibilities:Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll for hourly and salaried employees in multiple states.
Ensure payroll transactions are processed accurately and on time, including wages, bonuses, commissions, and benefits deductions.
Maintain payroll records in compliance with federal and state regulations.
Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, timekeeping, and tax withholdings.
Reconcile payroll data and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Prepare and distribute W-2s, 1099s, and other tax documentation.
Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to align on benefit deductions, new hires, terminations, and compensation changes.
Assist with audits, internal reviews, and reporting related to payroll processes.
Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll laws and regulations, ensuring compliance at all times.
Required:
3+ years of payroll processing experience in a multi-state environment.
Strong knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws.
Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, Workday, or similar).
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
Strong communication skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
Preferred:
Experience with payroll in the technology or SaaS industry.
CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) credential.
Familiarity with HRIS platforms and accounting systems.
Hourly Rate: $38 $45 per hour based on experience
