The Town of Pittsford is seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working, innovative individual for the full-time position of Recreation Director.
The successful candidate will be able to plan, staff, and oversee a variety of recreational programs and events, both supporting existing initiatives and developing future programs and events for Town residents throughout the year. Some of these programs will be in collaboration with other entities, such as the Town’s Library, Trails Committee, sports leagues, Seniors Group, other towns’ recreation programs, and other departments with the Town of Pittsford. This includes already in place programs including basketball, baseball/softball, soccer, summer day camp, disc golf events, and overseeing the maintenance of the trail system. The Recreation Direction also manages the 48-acre Recreation Area and its many amenities and supervises a part-time groundskeeper.
The ideal applicant would be friendly and outgoing, people-oriented and able to administer multiple programs simultaneously. A familiarity with social media and computer skills is important, as there is the ongoing need to communicate with the public regarding the status of programs/events. A working knowledge of MyRec is preferred, but not required.
