Gould Intelligent (an Arizona company) is seeking a Python Developer for a 6+ mo. contract in downtown Phoenix, AZ metro area. Work will be onsite Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm. Pay is $55 - $63/hr.
Candidate will be modernizing and refactoring the Python codebase. The refactored code should follow Python best practices (including PEP8), improve error handling and allow for more efficient debugging. The candidate will be improving integration with multiple geocoding services and transitioning data processing from flat files to an ArcGIS SQL Server Enterprise Geodatabase. Will be required to produce high quality technical documentation, including code comments, architecture diagrams, and workflow documentation.
Candidate must have a minimum of five years' experience in Python development and experience refactoring or modernizing codebases. Candidate must also have a strong understanding of SQL Server databases and a working knowledge of geospatial data stored in ArcGIS geodatabases. Must have experience working with third party geocoding APIs. Preferred candidate will have a bachelor's degree and/or experience working in government or public health.
Must be eligible to work on a W2 basis for any U.S. employer without sponsorship (no 3rd parties or corp to corp), be able to start with 2 weeks' notice, already be in the Phoenix Metro area (NO relocations), and be able to pass relevant background check.
