Position Title: Police Officer
Salary Information: $69,146.21
Benefit Information:
Two raises per year including an annual step increases and an annual cost of living increases.
Vacation (43 hours after 6 months, 86 hours after completion of 1 year)
Sick (60 hours annually)
Six steps to top salary as of current contract is $107,638.18
Unlimited accumulation of compensatory time up to 150 hours

Twelve-hour shifts, with three-day weekends every other weekend.
Round Lake Park Police Pension Fund is well funded and accepts the transfer of other pensions into the fund, including Article 3 (Downstate), Article 5 (Chicago), Article 7 (IMRF), and Article 15 (SURS) in accordance with applicable current Illinois pension transfer rules/laws. The pension funds transferred will be used to determine an officer's pensionable service time.

Department Overview
Round Lake Park is a small department (14 sworn full-time Officers) and promotes a family environment. The diverse community provides a good experience on many levels. Our north side is comprised of a large Hispanic community and our south side is a large retirement community.

Necessary Certifications: Must have valid and current POWER test card dated no more than nine (9) months prior to interview date.
Additional Requirements: Applicants must not have been convicted of a felony or any misdemeanor involving moral turpitude, as specified in §5/10-2.10-6 of the Board of Police Commissioners Act.
Hiring Process: Application and test due date is May 30, at 12pm. An oral interview will be scheduled for June 7 for all qualified and eligible candidates. All candidates successfully completing the written test will be contacted by email regarding details on the interview.
Applicants who have previously applied for a postion of police officer with Round Lake Park that did not successfully complete the background or psychological examination, or who has made admissions of criminal conduct during the polygraph examination that would otherwise preclude them from consideration for the position of police officer (as outlined in §10-2.10-6 of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners Act) shall be ineligible to re-apply to the Round Lake Park Police Department for a period of four years from the date of written notification.
