Specific Responsibilities:
This is a part-time OPS position that will work 24 hours per week.
This position coordinates the youth prevention component, Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT), of the statewide comprehensive Tobacco Prevention and Control Program by planning youth meetings, recruiting and retaining youth in the SWAT organization. This position requires the ability to work independently and to work with both youth and adults. Public speaking, public relations, and computer skills are required. This position requires to work some weekends, evening hours, out of town travel for training, and chaperone youth for state and regional meetings youth meetings.
The incumbent of this position will develop educational materials, including but not limited to PowerPoint presentations, will facilitating workshops to inform and engage students about the dangers of tobacco use and the importance of prevention strategies. Will work with youth to develop youth trainings and events throughout the county.
This position will work closely with schools, community organizations, and student groups to promote a tobacco-free lifestyle while assisting with advocacy and policy implementations related to tobacco prevention.
