The Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain data models and pipelines that enable accurate, analysis-ready datasets for both internal teams and external stakeholders. Accountabilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain modular, reusable dbt data models to support analytics workflows.
• Build and orchestrate data pipelines using Airflow and other ETL tools, ensuring high reliability and automation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define key metrics, business logic, and ensure data accuracy.
• Maintain end-to-end data lifecycle from ingestion to transformation and documentation.
• Implement testing, monitoring, and alerting systems to ensure pipeline performance and data quality.
• Translate business questions into efficient queries, datasets, and dashboards for reporting and experimentation.
• Document datasets and workflows for clarity, discoverability, and reproducibility.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in data engineering or related roles, ideally in fast-paced startups.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with dbt for modular analytics model design.
• Experience with Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools.
• Familiarity with AI, LLMs, and automation, with practical experience implementing or experimenting with AI solutions.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with stakeholders across teams.
• Bonus: experience with metrics layer design, distributed computing (PySpark/Databricks), or political/democracy-focused work.
