About Our Client:

Addison Group has partnered with a leading logistics organization that is expanding its customs operations team. They are seeking a detail-oriented Customs Entry Writer who is passionate about international trade, compliance, and helping ensure the efficient flow of goods across borders.

Job Description:

The Customs Entry Writer will be responsible for preparing and reviewing import documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting customs clearance processes. This is a fast-paced role requiring strong attention to detail, customs knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, review, and file customs documentation for import/export shipments
• Ensure compliance with tariff classifications, valuation, and other customs requirements
• Monitor shipments to ensure timely customs clearance and resolve delays or discrepancies
• Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and government agencies on compliance matters
• Research and apply customs terminology, documentation, and compliance standards
• Assist with audits, compliance checks, and process improvement initiatives
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trade regulations and industry practices
• Provide support to colleagues on customs-related inquiries

Qualifications:

• 1–2 years of experience in customs operations, brokerage, or compliance
• Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred (shows commitment and professional development)
• Familiarity with customs documentation, terminology, and compliance standards
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Cargowise experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage high-volume entries
• Excellent communication skills for occasional client or partner interaction
