Position Summary:
This leadership role is responsible for aligning IT strategies with the organization's business and financial objectives. The individual will lead the IT department in adopting modern technologies and software to enhance operations, oversee cybersecurity initiatives, and guide infrastructure and application investments. This position sets IT project goals, ensures the security of digital systems, and maintains alignment with the company’s strategic direction.
Departmental Leadership:
Oversees the design, development, and support of all IT systems across business functions such as marketing, hospitality, lodging, and recreational operations.
Collaborates with executive leadership, directors, and managers to achieve organizational goals.
Approves business requirements and IT-related contracts prior to the implementation of technical solutions.
Analyzes complex business needs and recommends appropriate technical strategies.
Ensures effective planning, management, and support of enterprise technologies.
Identifies and implements tools and processes for proactive monitoring and management of critical infrastructure and applications.
Provides regular updates on cybersecurity initiatives and overall security posture.
Leads the development and execution of business continuity, incident response, and disaster recovery plans.
Establishes and enforces standards and procedures for technical solution implementation.
Manages software release schedules and monitors project progress to ensure successful deployment.
Participates in software and hardware evaluations and oversees vendor contract management.
Acts as a liaison between the IT department and executive leadership for system improvements and modifications.
Directs research on emerging technologies to support innovation and digital transformation.
Develops and manages departmental budgets, ensuring expenses remain within approved limits.
Benchmarks current systems and infrastructure and recommends improvements where appropriate.
Maintains sufficient internal controls, policies, and procedures related to IT operations, security, and recovery to mitigate risk.
Personnel & Administrative Responsibilities:
Sets and enforces departmental standards, policies, objectives, and internal controls aligned with organizational mission and vision.
Supervision:
Directly supervises IT staff, including responsibilities for hiring, onboarding, assigning work, evaluating performance, providing feedback, handling disciplinary actions, addressing concerns, and ensuring adequate training and staff development.
Provides guidance to improve operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
A minimum of 10 years of IT experience, with experience in hospitality or service-based systems preferred.
At least 8 years of leadership or supervisory experience is desirable.
Equivalent combinations of education, experience, and training may be considered.
Strong skills in team leadership, project management, and cross-departmental collaboration.
Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification:
Must be able to successfully pass all pre-employment screening requirements, including drug testing and background investigation.
Must be flexible and available to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed to meet business demands.
Must maintain any required ongoing certifications or training related to the position.
