We offer a full spectrum of language services including medical interpreting done by qualified professionals for individual with limited English proficiency (LEP) or who are Deaf.We are seeking a Casual American Sign Language Medical Interpreter to serve deaf and hard of hearing patients and staff, rendering information accurately and completely in compliance with all the CC Language Services and CC hospital policies and procedures.The ideal candidate will understand a variety of signing and spoken styles and registers and interpret with the highest degree of accuracy and completeness. They will demonstrate cultural competency and understand language as an expression of culture, recognize the underlying assumptions of each party about medicine, the encounter, the illness etc. and use this understanding to empower patient and provider to better understand each other.
