General Description

The Houston Rockets are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented intern to support both Business Intelligence and CRM operations during a 12-month internship. This hybrid role is ideal for students or recent graduates with interests in data analytics, sports business, and CRM systems. The intern will assist in campaign analysis, survey work, form development, and Salesforce support—providing hands-on experience with the systems that power customer insights and engagement across the organization.

This role is designed to help the organization make smarter, data-informed decisions while relieving daily operational bottlenecks. It provides the opportunity to collaborate cross-functionally with teams in marketing, ticketing, and technology, while developing a practical understanding of professional sports business intelligence systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Assist with fan survey analysis, including both quantitative summaries and qualitative theme identification.
  • Create and manage digital forms (e.g. fan offers, promotions, contact submissions) using Formstack or similar tools.
  • Support the CRM Administrator with routine Salesforce maintenance, including contact/account merging, basic reporting, and data hygiene.
  • Help field CRM support tickets, including internal user requests for updates or troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to internal campaign reporting and performance dashboards across fan engagement touchpoints (email, SMS, app, etc.).
  • Work with business analysts to assist in campaign audience validation, data pulls, and entry-level data exploration.
  • Document recurring tasks, SOPs, and workflow enhancements related to both CRM and BI functions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student (or recent graduate) in Business, Sports Management, Information Systems, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; experience working with survey data is a plus.
  • Comfortable working in Excel or Google Sheets; familiarity with CRM or survey platforms is a bonus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Interest in learning about data systems such as Salesforce, Tableau, or SQL-based tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable collaborating across teams.
  • Familiarity with visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Sigma) or basic coding (SQL, Python) is a plus, but not required.
